you can leave carpets down I always sheet up properly and if plasterers are good they wont make a mess lot easier than taking carpets up

Hi sue it's no problem leaving carpet down , we do whole houses with carpets down , drying out if window left Slightly open dryed out in 3 days ready to paint G. Branch plastering

Hi Susan It would be very unwise to leave the carpet down. If you are having a whole room plastered this would involve a great deal of water. It would be unfair on the plasterer really. It would take more time to cover it effectively than it would to remove it. Take the carpet up, it's quite a simple thing to relay it. JC
