What type of trademan would I need?

Posted by Emily Poggio, on
Hi, please could you confirm the type of tradesman I’d need for the following? I am buying a property at the moment, which has polystyrene ceiling tiles in one bedroom, between decorative beams. The tiles obviously need to be removed for safety, but are also bulging/sagging in places so I’m unsure of the quality of the ceiling underneath. I’d need these removed and repair to the ceiling doing as necessary. The ceiling in the alleyway below the bedroom of this house is also plaster and lath and parts of this have been exposed due to poor upkeep – this would need to be removed and replaced – not sure if this is the ceiling of the alley or the floor of the bedroom above it? Thank you!

You need a plasterer to look at. Ceiling & he will be able to tell you what needs doing sometimes the tiles sag But will need to come off then re boarded or plastered on old ceiling depending on condition , the ally is defanatly Old lath & plaster which can again be boarded over & plastered , will not need taking down as will give more insulation G, branch plastering
