Plastering. cracks in new plaster. My newly plastered wall looks like a road map. How do I eradicate this problem and is it serious

Hi Wendi Causes for cracking can be numerous. We're you there when it was skimed ( top coat) was the base coat left for more than a day before skimming, in which case it may have been to dry causing the top coat to dry too quickly. Tap the wall and listen for a change of tone, ( hollow sound ) indicating that it may be loose. If it's not loose then they might not be cracks but just grazing ( very small cracks ) this is caused by the backing coat being too strong. I.e. A strong sand and cement mix. This is nothing to worry about just go over it with a weak filler ( mixed with more water than normal so it's sloppy ) Best of luck Jc
