More than likely just the board joins cracking , if repaired ok , never heard of ceiling falling to pieces before G, branch plastering

We are looking to buy a property. The sellers have informed us that the a couple of years ago, their lounge ceiling started to fall apart, which they had to get fixed. my concern in whether this could be something structural. Is there any way to check this? Will there be any signs?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance
