Yes it will be the whole length of the window plus at least 100 mm each side. Get a good electric hammer drill and a good masonry bit. Best of luck. Alternatively you Could always fix it above the lintel. Jc

If one strikes a lintel above a wooded window frame (in the middle) while trying to hang up a new curtain rail. Is it likely to be the whole length of the frame ?
