Poor finish plasterer

I employed a plasterer from your site to plaster and skim a lounge. The finish is extremely poor and cannot be painted in this state . Should I ask him to make good the job or ask for some money back so that I can get somebody to do a proper job? The worry is that he obviously thinks that he HAS done a good job! I have photos of his poor workmanship.
