Blown plaster

Posted by Kasia Wojewodka, on
In my 100 year old terraced house, lots of the plaster has blown on the downstairs walls. Can I just paint over it to hide the cracks or should I get it re plastered?

Hi Kasia , idealy any loose/ blown plaster should be removed and re plastered. You can fill and paint the the walls but the cracks will just keep coming back. Best of luck. David D J Barwick Builders

Hey Kasia it's always worth getting an expert opinion on any repairs of this nature as your never really sure what could be causing this to start with, it could be down to age but it could also be damp issues etc. My advice would be get it checked out by an expert, hope this helps.
