Posted by Debbie Hayes, on
Hi i have artex all over my hall, i have had it tested and there is a small amount of asbestos in it, i have painted it several times and i have been told its not dangerous unless i try and scrap it of, i was wondering, is it possible to plaster over artex, will the plaster take to it?

Yes but it would be best to unibond it first ,then I normally fix corner beads to all angles then after applying one coat of scrim I rub the plastic float over it then second coat scim it and trowel Finnish smooth ,so basically yes you can
