Rotted plasterboard behind shower - what type of tradesperson?

Posted by Lynne McMenemy, on
Hi, I have a (badly) tiled shower where for some years water has been penetrating the plasterboard behind. On removal of an adjoining doorframe it is clear that the plasterboard is black, mouldy and crumbling. I need someone to remove and replace the plasterboard and undertake any other timber repairs needed. Is this the job of a plasterer or builder or someone else?

a handy man could replace the plasterboard and re tile a done section easily. its unlikely the timber beneath is rotted to an extent it needed to be replaced. but again replacing a bit of stud is easy enough.
