Will skimming be enough?

Posted by Kelly Sales, on
I've removed a dado rail and (most) the wallpaper in my living room. The rail was attached with nails and glue so lots of plaster has come off behind. At some points it's over 4" wide. Providing I get all the loose plaster off can this be filled and skimmed? Or would it need to be taken right back before replastering? Thank you

Take all the loose plaster off that comes off with a scraper, if it's tough to get off it doesn't need to come off. Just use some bonding to fill the gaps before you plaster.
