Rendering over or removing stone cladding

Posted by Ian Pont, on
We are buying a 1960s house with stone cladding to one half of the front. It was added to ALL the 20 odd houses in the street as 'decoration' and our surveyor estimated the cladding is on breeze block and not brickwork, as it was done originally. My question is, we want to render the front of the property so could this be rendered over, cladded over or does it HAVE to be removed?
