Do no builders use this site?

I have now twice posted a job to redo some bodged external rendering work (in Reading). On the first time, nobody bothered replying to the ad at all. This time I upped the budget to well beyond what it first cost..... and got one phone call from someone who I had great difficulty communicating with, and three weeks later never bothered to send a quote. Has anyone ever found any tradespeople use this site - let alone reliable ones?
