Exterior house render

Posted by neil matthews, on
My son who lives in his own is interested in having exterior render on the front of his property . It isnt a listed building but he has been put off by someone saying you need council planning permission as it alters the thermal element. His house is also cavity wall insulated. Is this true about the council or is it scare mongering. Thanks for any advice. My name is Neil Matthews & my son lives in Forest town. Thankyou
