What do I do once I've found a tradesman?

Posted by Katherine Kelsey, on
I don't wish to cancel my job - I'd like the tradesman to complete the job, but the only option, once a tradesman is found is to click on "Cancel this job". That does not make sense. Why is there no "Tradesman found" button? I'd expect at least 2 options: "Tradesman Found" and "Tradesman No Longer Wanted", along with (if necessary) "Cancel" to take one back to the previous page on the website. I don't want to waste anyone's time or money by leaving a job open, but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do!

Hi Katherine, Many thanks for your feedback. I'll be sure to pass this along to the team so that we can look to improve this. Once you’ve chosen your tradesperson, we ask you to do two things: 1. Take down your job posting, if possible. Job posts expire on the site after three days. You're wont be canceling the job, but rather removing the job post from the site since you've found a tradesperson to carry out the work and so that other tradespeople don't buy the job to try and quote. 2. Rate your tradesperson when the work is complete. To give a rating, log in to your account or launch the Homes mobile app and select ‘My jobs’ from the main navigation to view the list of jobs you have posted through Rated People. Select the job from the list and then click the ‘Rate’ button for the tradesperson who completed the work. You will then be asked to give the tradesperson a star rating of 1 to 5 (5 being best) on their quality of work, reliability and value for money. Hope this helps and feel free to contact us if you need anything else. Alex Ask an Expert team
