Well I dont know if you can post a picture,that might help, if it needs replaced there are lots of showers with multiple entry points for water/Electric so you just need to amke sure you can cover any screwholes

Kevin, I am assuming that this shower is built into a Frame Covering which houses the Hot/Cold feeds and controls and includes various water outlets. These are usually between 2 and 3 foot high and pertrude from the Wall. If this is the case, then you would need to locate the manufacturers and model number, which generally is either on a plate or control head, if not should be inside the Tower Cover. Without this you are unlikely to get a match for replacing it. Which therefore, will mean that you will need to have an alternative Shower uint fitted which could mean a reasonable amount of work, has tiles will be removed, re-piping, etc. Your best bet is to get a plumber to come and look at it and give you advice.
