Joe, This can be caused by several issues; 1. Old Iron Pipe Work which is corrosive and diameter has decreased through build of scale, etc. thus reducing flow rates and increased debris (orange coloured water) 2. Gravity fed system and poor pressure and if combined with 1) makes problem even worse If you fit a pump or pressurised system or Combi Boiler you would first need resolve point 1) if applicable probably by re-piping.
