Hi, I seem to have very high water pressure in my house so should I contact my local water company or a local plumber to solve this?

If you really want to turn the water pressure down you can have a Pressure Reducing Valve fitted by the Stop Cock

Lucky you, why is this a problem? it is very unlikely to be more than 6Bar and unless its over 10 Bar its unlikely to be a problem, so just enjoy it, there are lots of people getting by on 1 bar, in Edinburgh its common to have 4-5 Bar overnight though Scottish Water are turning the pressure down to reduce the leakage rate in the mains
