Dear Elizabeth You had been ripped off possibly by a unqualified cow boy who should not be touching your boiler as is illegal If you still have his details please call him back to issue paper work and to put all parts in place Boiler service should take at least an hour by visual inspection and manual checks to your boiler.( he should carry on on flue combusting,co level etc) I hope this will help Best regards Raf

this man should not have gone near your boiler by the sound of it if he gave you his details you should try to contact him if no joy should report him to gas safe as paperwork should be left at every job as its illegal to not leave it as rafal has said in his text hope this helps chris
