Radiator removal

Posted by Ben Evans, on
I need to remove a couple of radiators to wallpaper behind them. Is this easy to do? How do I stop the water flow?

Hi Ben, if the radiator is connected by flexible pipe there may be enough slack to lift the radiator off and paper behind. If not, close off both valves, undo the nuts on the radiator side, drain the radiator, remove and paper. Refit is reversal making sure the valves are returned to their original positions.

drain down the system if you are confident and loosen the valves put a bucket under and undo the other valve and take of rad. if you have any doubts a plumber should take it off and put it back for about £60/ £80.Better than paying for a new carpet. good luck jim
