Leaking bathroom radiator

Posted by william butler, on
A small puddle of water keeps appearing on the floor underneath our bathroom radiator, it appears to come from the top of the radiator, from an end rounded object with a bolt attached

Sounds like the bleed valve is letting water escape. So you have three things that it could be; The eye of the bleed valve isn't closed properly - try getting a bleed key from your local plumbers merchants if you don't have one, tighten it up (clockwise). The bleed valve nut is loose - get a spanner and gently tighten (clockwise). The o-ring has perished and needs replacing - buy a new bleed valve or o-ring from your local merchants and replace. If all else fails, get a local plumber in...while they are in get a quick check of all the heating components or a boiler service carried out and get value for money. Hope this helps, Jan SouthCoastBoilers
