Thinking of getting a combi mate water treatment

Do they work as hopefully it will help our central heating boiler which suffers from lime scale problems .Also we are looking at refitting our on suite and bathroom and we're hoping it would cut down the lime scale damage to the shower heads etc.We are located in Norfolk which suffers from very hard water.
