Disconnecting washing machine

When trying to turn he red and blue valves to the off position to disconnect washing machine they are spurting water. Why is this? what can I do?

you can replace the washing machines taps or take off the plastic handle then turn off using a spanner

Hi Lynn Possibly plastic handles are worn or have been forced to shut and they do not work anymore. I would suggest to remove handles by deassembling them from body and turning valves with a wrench( they should turn off in 1/4 turn) I hope this can help Best regards Rafal
