How much would a trades person ask up front

Karl Hockless

Depends if any outlay is needed up front for materials or products. I personally don't normally charge up front, but do charge when items, ie kitchens or bathrooms etc are delivered to site. As a customer I would be very cautious about giving money to a stranger before they have done any work. Likewise, I would be happy to pay for materials before they are used but only when they are delivered to site. For a large project I would be looking at having a written agreement in place to protect both parties.

Hi Lorna Any good plumber who is in trade for a long time never ask for money up front for a job but if je is going to buy kitchen or bathroom suites tiles etc he could ask for money up front. Best regards Rafal
