Hi Gail An electrician would be best since they would be qualified to work on the electrical connection.

I would call a Plumber to check it first, and if the shower has a plumbing or a electrical problem. I have found most of the time ,one or two components are faulty inside of the shower, and its best to replace it with like for like shower with the same electrical capacity.
