Water damage

Posted by Mark Stevens, on
I had a small leak from my header tank - a plumber came and drained the tank and told me he had made sure I had water - apparently he connected the high pressure mains water to my gravity fed system - Since, both bedrooms upstairs have been 'flooded' - he said it was the power shower! (which was hissing) they disconnected that - replaced the tank and wanted to replace the shower - Left the shower disconnected and put my water back to as it was but then told me the 3 way valve had got water in it and had to be changed - What I would like to know is; Could connecting high pressure to my low pressure system cause water to be drawn up to the header tank and flood (the shower WAS connected before the 'flooding' and could of that high pressure cause damage to the 3 way valve? The shower has now been reconnected to the system (back to gravity fed) and no problems. Thank you for your help. Mark
