Dear Jeanette If your kitchen tap is a monoblock tap it would need new cartrige ( if will be available ) or new tap If it's tap with typical knobs it would need new washer I hope this will help Best regards Rafal

It seems like that the spindle has come apart within the tap it can be repaired. Regards Steve
