I have moved into a new flat which has a vented hot water tank. We have Economy 7 electricity so it is heated by immersion heater. We also have a large cold water tank situated directly above the hot water tank. Both are in a cupboard in the flat. The previous owner found the hot water pressure too low so installed a Shower Power Booster, this works fine for the taps but the shower leaves something to be desired. I also do not believe the current immersion heaters have any thermostat on so would want to ensure the new tank has these to avoid burning more electricity than is needed. Hot water pipes appear to be un-insulated also.
I have no gas supply.
I have had a look around and an unvented water tank seems like it would solve my issues.
1) It would mean I get hot water at mains pressure.
2) I can get rid of the cold water tank and gain back my storage space.
Does this seem a sound idea, if so will post a job on the site soon.
