Can not find my stopcock in an ex-council property

Posted by Matthew Hayward, on
Having real difficult with finding my stopcock / if I have find it then it is extremely stiff and in a very awkward spot. I realise being able to turn the water off is stopping me from having other plumbing works done such as re-fitting my bathroom. Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt you will normally have an internal stoptap fitted under the sink or downstairs WC where the water feed enters the property. You should also have an external stoptap normally on the pavement near the property or at some point on the drive (although it isn't unknown for these to get covered up!) look for a square metal lid .
