Poor toilet flush

Posted by Andy Taylor, on
Hi. I live in a 1910 build semi. There is a toilet on the ground floor which does not flush very well. Put it this way, a number 2 needs at least 2 flushes! Water pressure isn't brilliant in the house in general - could this be part of the problem? I tried emptying a bucket of water into the bowl quickly and that didn't make much difference. Any advice on the next steps would be great. Thanks.

Your loo isn't effected by the mains water pressure, it works in the same way as pouring a bucket of water down like you did. It sound to me like you have a blockage down the loo. I would suggest getting a drain cleaning company in to put a camera down it. You may find that you have roots ingresses into the old system which will be expensive to replace or reline. Good luck.
