Access to mixer taps with ceramic fittings

Posted by gary smallbone, on
My mixer tap - both hot and cold do not appear to have any Allen key or other screw device once you have removed the tubular screw handles. There is no other apparent access to the tap internals and no manufacturers name on them. Any suggestions - both are leaking.

Its difficult to say for sure without seeing, normally there is a machine screw accessible after removing the tubular handles, It is possible that someone lost the screw and glued them on, in which case good luck getting off without causing damage. If they are unbranded then it would be more cost effective just to replace the tap/s as it is not always possible to buy replacement cartridges of the correct depth to repair. As a professional, rather than spend hours driving about trying to source a replacement cartridge, I would replace taps. If this is beyond your abilities, then you could post the job in job section to get price from plumber for replacement.
