Leaking Shower

Posted by Terry Murphy, on
I have an intermittent leak in our shower. It is located on the first floor of our house and from time to time it leaks. We have had several plumbers look at the problem but it keeps coming back. I wonder what advice you could offer.

9 times out of ten it will be seals around the tray best method to find leak is run water direct from a hose into the waste then pull the hose out of the waste and run direct into the botttom of the tray ten move up so water runs onto the tiles and or seals do each step seperately to give time for the water to show below if the leak is intermittent it very unlikley to be service pipework as this would run continous the exception being the pipework between the mixer and the head if its the seals adding further silicon is a waste of time it needs to be dug out cleaned and replacedif there is any movement in the base it needs to be refitted
