Hi Cheryl, Unfortunately you are going to have a lifetime of problems with that set up, they always go wrong, every 2-3 years. I would either put in a proper drain or move your water using machines upstairs. You can spend a lot more money on a commercial set up which would be more reliable but it's probably cheaper to dig a drain.
