Copper hot water cylinder

Posted by colin stacey, on
Water is travelling in the wrong direction up the cold feed pipe from the bathroom airing cupboard sited cylinder to the ceiling tank, causing water to flow out of the overflow particularly once the heating system is pressurised/on. I have replaced ballcock valve and reduced water level temporarily in the ceiling tank however it refills once the water / heating cycle is on. indirect system is from approx. mid 1980's.

Is you're boiler system boiler - basically you need to pressure the boiler with a filling loop ? If this is the case , then it looks like the cylinder as hole in the loop inside the cylinder Richard
