Air lock in hot water system

Posted by Robert West, on
I would like to know how to get air out of the hot water system. I drained both heating and water system to replace a bathroom radiator and replace new taps. heating system works ok as does the cold water, however the hot water pressure has dropped. Also header tank in loft takes ages to refill and i have knocking from pipes when the boiler is on. Any suggestions. Rob

Hi rob. Have you tried back filling through your hot water tap Use a length of hose and connect the cold tap at your kitchen sink too your hot tap. Slowerly open both taps then go up stairs and open your bathroom hot taps till you have water coming from them both. Then go down stairs and turn the cold off and disconnect the hose. Then leave your hot tap on till you have a good flow
