Mixer bath tap how do I fix shower non-flow.

Mixer bath shower not operating needs o-ring !, how do I remove after taking of shower hose there doesn't appear to be an allan key socket only a thin plate, do I have to make a slotted key to fit up into outlet over this plate and unscrew ?
