If your bath backs on to the airing cupboard it could be possible to run the pipework up the wall in the cupboard and just drill through to the new shower valve this makes it a more viable option without disturbing any wall tiles

Hi, as its an electric shower you will only have a cold water feed to your shower, to have a bar mixer shower you will need both, hot and cold water feeds, which means you will have to knock tiles off the wall and to put the pipes behind the tiles, plus you will need to hide the hole in the tiles behind the shower unit currently in place, if you're on budget the best option would be to install a bath tap with a shower outlet integrated (unless its a shower cubicle) which will cost around £70 plus the tap.
