BIDWasher

Posted by Bill Somes, on
Did complete kitchen reno seven years ago. Installed a good quality BIDW about that time. Connected drain hose to a wye in a horizontal section of 1 1/2" ABS under sink (with hose at specified elevation - 21"?). Worked well up until recently. DW would not completely drain, hence dishes not clean. Checked for blockage in ABS drain downstream from drain hose connection. No blockage. Problem persisted. Removed DW completely and replaced it with a new BOSCH model (kept old one). Same problem within a few loads. Don't think that it is a faulty DW. Want to ask if it would be OK to re-route the drain hose by drilling a hole in the floor underneath it and tying it in to an existing ABS drain in the basement so that gravity is working in my favor. Thanks..
