Hot water from the immersion heater

Posted by ARCHIE JAMIESON, on
In a bungalow. can I take a hot water pipe from the ground floor immersion heater up into the loft passing over a new doorway and back down to the kitchen sink ? I was worried there wouldn't be enough pressure.

The cold water tank being in the loft is helpful so long as you keep the hot water supply pipe as low as possible in the loft area it should still work An alternative solution would be to install an unvented hot water tank this would give you high pressures hot water were ever it’s needed and also get rid of the cold water storage tank

In theory you can do this providing that the cold water storage tank is in the loft higher than the pipe you intend to run but this way of running the hot water pipe could be prone to air locking so make sure there are venting points at the high spots
