New shower pressure problems

Posted by Russell Derry, on
I have installed a thermostatic shower in my bungalow. The hot water is fed via an impeller pump from the other side of the building. THe hot water from the taps in the bathroom is a good pressure however the shower will not work until you switch on a hot water tap first. After this it is fine....how could I cure this please

Morning Russ.... it sounds like the bottom of the header tank in the loft isn’t high enough from where the shower pipes come out the wall....1 1/2 mts is the average distance , by lifting up the tank this will increase the force of the water down to the pump.... more gravity
