Hello Molly, the best way to get a refund on an incomplete project is to try and sort out the situation amicably with the contractor, of course i understand you are struggling to get any kind of contact with them but this is by far the easiest solution. Alternatively the only other course of action is to start proceedings within the small claims court. However this can be a long and drawn out process that can be very costly if you do not follow procedure properly. You have to make sure that you give the contractor an opportunity to rectify any poor or incomplete work before starting any proceedings. Please bare in mind that you are only able to claim back any payment for works that haven't been completed, you will not be able to claim back the amount paid for the two days work that has been completed or any materials using within that work. Please bare in mind that this process is very much a last resort, it is always a lot easier and less stressful for everyone involved to resolve the issue outside of court. For a full breakdown of procedure and resolution you can find a full article on Which?Legal I hope you found this useful and best of luck with your project. - Christopher
