Bathroom leak

While-on holiday for a week this time last year we had a water leak from the bathroom through to out kitchen ceiling. After drilling a hole to let any water out and drying we have had no leak since. Even with daily showers and baths. I have just returned again this year from week holiday and the same has happened. Since back having a shower no new water. Seems this leak only happens when there is not showers or baths. Can u explain
