Plastic pipe emergency!

Posted by Jeremy Geib, on
My toilet has started leaking from the fill line in the back. It's the pipe that is screwed into the toilet that is leaking and it is a messed up situation. The pipe is the gray flexible pvc directly attached to the shut-off which is then directly attached to toilet fill port. By directly I mean the gray pipe has been crimped directly to both sides of fill valve. My question is are were there 2 different wall thinkness' of the flexible gray pvc pipe. I only ask because the hardware store guy said that at some point the flexible gray pvc began to be manufactured again but with a different wall thickness because entirely different manufacturer. I find this hard to believe but before I make an irreversible cut into my toilet fill line I want to be absolutely certain the hardware store clerk was talking out his ass.
