Question: I want to have installed a Zwave compatible smart thermostat for GCH and possibly replace some cheap wifi electric underfloor thermostats. Who should I be talking to for this, a plumber, a gas engineer or an electrician or none of the above? Detail: Since moving in and due to finance constraints, I have had a heat engineer replace all our radiators and checked our heating. Then we had solar installed that heated my water tank. Then the GCH boiler died and it was not economical to repair so I had a new boiler and cylinder installed. Asked about smart thermostats at the time but they said they were only LEGALLY allowed to install 2 brands of smarts thermostats neither of which I fancied or worked as a bigger system of smart home products. They said I could install myself after their signoff with my choice of thermostat but they would not be able to do it for me. What I want is a Z wave system that could integrate the different heating circuits I now have in the house (a mix of GCH and electric underfloors) coupled with the smart electrical circuits/switches/controls and lighting and solar. At the moment I have a manual hallway Honeywell thermostat and a Danfoss boiler GCH controller. Everywhere I look talks about replacing the thermostat but nobody explains if I need to address the boiler controller
