Boiler losing pressure daily, do I need a trace and access service?

Posted by Dec Marshall, on
My boiler loses pressure everyday (down to 0 bar) but there is no sign of dampness around the house. With the only exception being under the bath tub, which I believe to be from a previous shower leak rather than a leak that could be causing pressure to drop). So I’m not sure. I don’t have trace and access on my insurance policy and am at a loss of what to do next as I’m worried I will pay the trace and access price but no leak will be found. If I could get some advice I would really appreciate it.

If your boiler is constantly losing pressure the first thing to check is the pressure relief valve outlet this is outside the house near the boiler ( copper tube 15mm folded back to the wall ) if this tube is dripping it means that the pressure relief valve the expansion vessel or both are faulty. If when you run heating gauge on boiler goes above 3 the expansion vessel is faulty. If the pipe outside is constantly dripping the pressure relief valve is faulty. The other possibility is that a radiator leaks when hot and the water evaporates try wrapping valves in kitchen roll this will collect evaporating water and show.
