Radiators wont bleed

Posted by Mark Elliott, on
Hi, i have 4 radiators and a towel rail upstairs, 2 radiators will bleed and water comes out, the rail and the other 2 are only hot at the bottom and will not bleed. i get some air out then the air stops before the water comes through. i have had 1 radiator off and washed the inside out as i thought it was sludge but it still wont bleed. how can i get the radiators to bleed please? is the pump the issue?

This depends on the type of heating system you have. If you have a combi with a gauge on the front top up to 2 bar bleed radiators then top up again to one and a half bar. You will have to top up before bleeding each radiator. If you have a small tank in your loft for heating then you may have to turn off all radiators except the one you are bleeding this will help water get to that rad.
