Toilet Cistern Inlet Valve

How easy is it to replace a bottom fill inlet valve in an Ideal toilet? I think the diaphragm is shot as the cistern doesnt stop filling and overflows into the bowl. Is it worth replacing the inlet system rather than just the diaphragm?
