No response from post uploaded on Monday?

Posted by Daniel Ferguson, on
I posted a question on Monday with regards recommending a type of tradesperson to lift floorboards to detect and remedy where smoke might be coming from my next door neighbour. I gather this is a tricky one to advise on (not knowing potential solution until boards have been taken up and not knowing what expertise might be needed once problem identified, even if it can be) - is this why you haven't been able to respond?

Some assistance from your neighbour is key here., if this is possible? It would be advantageous to lift the boards yourself or if unable to, get a general tradesperson or builder to do this. If access to your neighbours property is possible it would be helpful to see where the smoke/fumes are coming from and the route they are taking through the adjoining floor/wall. A general builder would be able to seal up any offending holes, but again I would stress that cooperation from your neighbour would be paramount. Hope this helps. Regards Andrew
