How much will it cost ot put a working internal chimney back in place

It appears the chimney breast in my living room is made of plasterboard. The previous owners have knocked down the chimney and for some reason rebuilt it with plasterboard.
I want to install a log burning stove. How much will it cost to put right and what work will need to be carried out
