I am looking at two extension options on my property, one a side extension and one at the back ahead of remortgaging later this year. I'm looking to extend the ground storey for a bigger kitchen/diner and adding 1 - 2 bedrooms above but I'm not sure which one is the right one.
I understand that the place to start is with an architect or and architectural technologist (whats the difference?). Ideally I'd like to have a chat with an architect or technologist to understand the pro's and con's and get a quote for their services but I'm not sure if this is reasonable or if I'm already likely to be in chargeable territory?
Not trying to be cheap but don't want to waste someones time if I'm looking for an initial chat and they are expecting to be charging.
