If it was artext before 1980 then it might have asbestos in it so yes get it checked

How do I ask for an Artex Remover. I don't think a painter and decorator would do it

Most Painter decorators can do this but it’s a horrible job most people get a plasterer to scim the area (ceiling or wall)

Hi Kenneth, It's best to test the Artex before you remove it, as some older versions may contain asbestos. I'd suggest you post a job under the 'plasterer' trade, where tradespeople who have the skill to do the job will see it.
